About Us

My name is Melissa. I am a wife, mother, domestic goddess, and I love sewing and creating custom pieces for myself, friends, and others. Here is the past 10 years in a nutshell- I graduated college with a degree in early childhood education. I taught Kindergarten, 5th grade, and 1st grade. I have a master’s degree in mathematics education, and a specialist degree in teaching and learning with an emphasis in teacher leadership.

So, how did I end up here? In December 2011, God blessed me with the greatest gift of all, my son. My husband blessed me with the second greatest gift of all, the ability to stay home. I never thought I’d be a stay at home mom. It was never part of the plan, but I am incredibly grateful that we’re able to make it happen.

In December 2005, I got a sewing machine, and on a whim decided to cut up my high school t-shirts and sew a quilt. I followed that project up with a quilt for my sister, and then began sewing t-shirt quilts for family and friends as gifts. I eventually started selling them and business grew. Staying home allowed me the opportunity to branch out. I now make a variety of blankets, as well as scarves, wallets, hooded towels, and capes- sold through my etsy shop that I opened in January 2013.

This blog serves as a way for me to chronicle my creations. Thanks for stopping by!
